Little Milton
Live at Westville Prison,  Delmark Records CD DE-681, 1995

 Yard long blues

This album captures Little Milton and his band performing at an Indiana minimum security prison in January, 1983. It’s a real throwback to an R&B revival show style since vanished. Wailing classic blues on vocal and guitar, Little Milton remains a gentleman throughout. As expected, tales of prison, cheating, and heartfelt teary love dominate. The restrained fire of his guitar leads, and soulful vocals compensate for an only adequate recording. While there’s nothing groundbreaking in here, it’s a fine evocation of a lost world.– Bill Kuhn

performers

Little Milton, vocals and guitar; Lucky Peterson, keyboards; Ricky Earl, guitars; Frank McClure, bass; Tony Brown, drums.
